Kevin Hogan: author of best personal development article I've read in 12-36 months!I twittered the other day about a great piece of writing I had just read by Kevin Hogan and wanted to follow up by blogging about it, and giving it a permanent “high-five!” on my site.

The article is called:

Be Confident of Your Greatness: Being in Control of Your Life in Tough Times

I really like Kevin Hogan. He’s made of the good stuff. His articles are consistently worth reading and this one is stellar in my opinion.

In fact, I liked it so much that on my twitter post I said:

“Reading @kevinhogan ’s http://tinyurl.com/dfk3nq - best self development article I’ve read in 3 yrs & timely”

I put 3 years and was thinking 4, and on this blog post I’ve modified it to the last 12 months just in case my time guage reading is off! However,  still think it’s a really great article to read and read now.

brain

Michael Lovitch of the Hypnosis Network just let me know about a new article he has written on brain plasticity.

It describes how your brain adapts and grows even in old age — as long as you are getting the right kind of stimulation.

Take my recommendation, and check it out. It doesn’t take long to read, but it could influence your choices over the rest of your lifetime and as a result determine whether you get the most from your brain or not:

Stop searching for your Life Purpose and start creating it…

Stop searching for your life purpose

This morning I enjoyed reading Karen Wright’s article, Stop Searching, about life purpose and how it’s time to stop searching and start creating it.

I wrote a report a few years back called Creating Your Life Purpose: The Ultimate Creative Challenge! but it was good to read Karen’s timely reminder.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the idea of DESTINY and thinking there are things that you SHOULD do or OUGHT to be doing.

There’s nothing that you should be doing.

You want a life purpose that is incredibly meaningful to you? You have to create it!

Creativity is hard work.

I’m a lazy bum by nature. It’s taking me a long time to drum this into my head. That’s partly why I write about creativity. I’m trying to drive the message home — GET CREATIVE! GET INTO ACTION! TAKE INSPIRED ACTION!

Some people experience a mix of life events that sets them up perfectly. They create unconsciously what they want to have happen. These are the seemingly lucky ones who just gel with their life purpose or ‘discover’ their vocation.

The rest of us need to sweat. We have to do some hard thinking. Get the design board out. Take up the Creator mantle. Ask: What kind of life do I want to experience? What kind of world do I want to create?

Then go and do it! Make it!
